Buy Signals, Rebuilt: Real Market Data, Real Reasons — Plus Pro Analysis
Buy signals just leveled up. Every one of the 36,000+ collectibles PokeTrack prices is now scored nightly against its real 30-day market history — no estimates, no guesswork. And with Pro, you don't just see the signal, you see the *why*.
Signals from real market history
Every card with meaningful price history gets a nightly signal — BUY, BOTTOMING, DROPPING, WATCH, HOLD, or STABLE — computed from its actual daily TCGplayer record: current price vs. the 30-day average, week-over-week momentum, and position in the 30-day range. The same signal shows everywhere: card pages, the table view, alerts, and set tiles. Cards that are too cheap or too new for a reliable read say so honestly instead of guessing.
"Why this signal" — the Pro analysis
Pro members see the full reasoning under every signal: exactly how far a card sits below its 30-day average, whether the decline is accelerating or losing steam, and how close it is to its 30-day low. It reads like a note from a friend who watches the market so you don't have to: "$135.08 is 8% below the 30-day average. Last week's decline is easing. Currently 2% off the 30-day low."
Price alerts that estimate arrival
Set a target price on a card you're hunting and Pro alerts now include an estimate of when your target could hit based on the current pace of decline — "your $129.99 alert is 4% below current, roughly 11 days away if last week's pace holds." Signals and analysis appear right on your alerts page, so a triggered alert always explains itself.
Opportunity at a glance
Every set tile on your dashboard now shows a live count of active buy signals across all 168 sets — so you can spot which sets have cards in a buying window before you even open them.
A quick note
Signals are decision support built from market data, not financial advice. They tell you what the market is doing and why — the call is always yours.
PokeTrack records every card's TCGplayer price daily and scores it nightly against its real 30-day history. A BUY signal means the card is at least 10% below its 30-day average; BOTTOMING means a decline is flattening near its recent low, which can indicate a price floor.
BOTTOMING means the card was falling week-over-week but the current price has stopped dropping relative to its recent average — a pattern that often appears near a price floor. It's a "watch for entry" signal rather than an all-clear.
Pro price alerts include a pace-based estimate: if a card has been declining, PokeTrack projects roughly how many days until your target price could hit at the current rate. It's an estimate from recent market movement, not a guarantee.
